Topic: M. The Family, Family Home (Family Code, arts. 149-162)

A married couple, Alex and Andrea, decided to purchase a property to serve as their family home. They acquired the property using their conjugal funds. They registered the property as their family home pursuant to the provisions of the Family Code.

Several years later, Alex passed away. Their only child, Angela, inherited the family home. However, Angela decides to sell the property without the consent of her mother, Andrea. Andrea opposes the sale, arguing that as the surviving spouse, she has the right to the possession and enjoyment of the family home during her lifetime.

Advise Andrea on her rights with regards to the family home, taking into consideration the relevant provisions of the Family Code.
