Scenario:

John and Jane, a married couple, are currently living in the Philippines. They decide to move to the United States with the intent of permanently staying there. They sell their properties in the Philippines, terminate their employment, and settle all their obligations. They arrive in the United States and find a new house for their family.

After two years of living in the United States, John receives a job offer in Switzerland, which he accepts. He moves to Switzerland and starts working there. Jane, on the other hand, decides to stay in the United States with their children.

1. What are the requirements for acquiring a new domicile?
2. Has John acquired a new domicile? Explain why or why not.
3. Can Jane assert a change of domicile? Explain why or why not.
